  • We would all be a whole lot happier. There would be far fewer wars.
  • It would be like telling us ''lower people''. hey you have just won 1M dollars. All the world leaders would go crazy trying to recreate another kind of concept of countries, cities etc. It's innate in men and some women to want to conquer now that everything is so industrialized men and the few women can't conquer like back in the good old indian days when there was balance in the animal kingdom and most all things. So if countries are abolished, white man would reconquer....
  • The core issue is mans false sense of proprietorship over the earth, or particular parts of it. Actually everything belongs to God and He kindly allows us access to the facilities, as we require. But we want to stake a permanant claim by sectioning off the bits we happend to take birth in, calling them soverein states and killing each other over manufactured territorial disputes. What would happen if we abolished the concept of countries? Peace on earth. ---------------------------------- http://georgiadis.googlepages.com/
  • If there were no countries would that mean that there would be no more country music? Cool. ----------------------------------- http://georgiadis.googlepages.com/
  • Assuming the concepts of states, regions, territories, etc. were not also abolished, and also assuming the general technological state of the world kept its current course: there would be a period of political chaos and probably economic upheaval as well as the nation-states attempted to adjust to the new system (or lack thereof). Soon, nation-state leaders would recognize the need to form organizations and diplomatic groups in order to prevent war, tariffs, and encourage interstate commerce, and establish consistencies with one another to foster friendship, keep the economy running, and thus keep the people happy. Soon these organizations would develop into confederacies to provide even more solidarity in an ever more technologicly connected world. These confederacies would find themselves competing with other confederacies for resources and influence, thus increasing the need for interstate solidarity (safety in numbers) which in turn would drive hostilities between confederacies. By this time, the confederacies would be choosing executive leaders for efficiency and giving them increased powers. In time the nation-states would be more or less unionized, and you'd be back to square one. Pretty much the only way to get rid of countries is to regress back to the stone age, and even then tribes would be killing each other.
  • We would all make our own colonies anyway, and probably end up with countries again. Of course, if I had one of these countries, It would be calledeither boredasmustard, or Tofu Lightening (what a name!)
  • The United Nations would govern the world, and Kofi Annan would be the leader. That would be good, because it's almost impossible to see him give in to corruption.
  • It would take a VERY powerful country to 'abolish' the concept of countries.
