  • Because he is the supposed descendant of the wise king Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Had they taken some time to do some research they would have realized he was a dictator, you know the bad kind.
  • if you would plz gice me some info on him id greatly appreciate it
  • Because he is the King of kings. We don't worship him, we worship God or Jah as Psalm 86 in the KJV calls the creator. And if anyone does their research and actually asks the educated masses, Haile Selassie was a benevolent dictator who increased the education and modernization of ethiopia, who is in possession of the true ark of the covenant (Zion) Look into it. I am a white boy from KY who is a history, language and religion teacher and I can tell you without a doubt Emperor Selassie I is the savior of our world.
  • I don't know much but what I do know is that JAH is a name for "god" and Haile Selassie is like (I think) the 'father' of Rastafariansism and not Jah. Overall, universally, Jah is short for Jehovah, YHWH (of yahweh), and ie "god."
  • jah is life and spirituality of the world and everyone in it Haili Selassie I is noted as a rebirth of jesus but only by some rastafarians and he a widely received advocate of the movement
  • Well, in the 1920's Marcus Garvey and a few other preachers started telling Jamaicans to look to African for a leader, the Messiah even, because in Psalms 68:31 it says, "Princes shall come out of Egypt: Ethiopia shall stretch out her hands unto God." Then, about 2 years after Garvey started saying that, in Ethiopia Ras Tafari was crowned King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah. It was at that coronation that he received the title Haile Sellassie I, which means 'the might and power of the holy trinity'. The Jamaicans waiting for the African king were pleased and amazed. The back to Africa movement gained a lot of steam. Haile Sellassie actually visited Jamaica, and he actually set aside land for black people from around the world to repatriate. It's called Shashamanee. Expatriates from everywhere live there now.
  • I have a teacher who was born in Africa. He spoke of Selassie's rape and ruin of Ethiopia leaving the people starving as he hoarded all the wealth. I know the rasta movement is very beneficial and the people have made great strides in love and peace through it.
