I've been seeing more and more people use 'retard' as a throwaway insult recently. It seems to be one of the latest fads in dehumanising people you encounter on the internet, and asserting some kind of false superiority. Despicable behaviour, really. Thinking of people as 'retards' just limits yourself, and prevents you and others from making progress and gaining understanding of others.
