Yes, I am answering my question. Feel free to not points me. I did not have as severe an instance as was described in the movie. Mine was rather minor, truth be told, but it still was what occurred in the movie. The movie had me thinking: how many have had this happen to them? It happened to me during dental surgery at the age of 8-10 (I forgot). I do not remember it clearly but I was aware of, and feeling fully, the pain of the procedure plus hearing some of the chatter of the staff. My mind provided nightmares to accompany the pain, some of which I remember. None of them made sense. Between just plain nightmares I knew enough to know that I was not supposed to feel the pain or hear the chatter but I could not move. It was rather frightening.

It didn't happen to me personally, but did happen to a friend of mine. She was in the hospital having her first child, and the she wasn't numb enough before they started her caesarian...and she felt the incision. I've been through all kinds of pain with oral surgery, but at least when I had my hysterectomy I was out cold....I can't even imagine what I would have done if I had been in her position.
