What colors of shoes should I wear with a knee length lilac cocktail dress? Would black shoes be appropriate?

No, I wouldn't wear black, it is too dark for lilac. Cream or silver would look good, there are some nice silver evening shoes around in the shops at the moment.

Lilac? Many colors would go. Actually black might be great depending on the fabric. Other colors? Purple, hot pink, gold or silver. Depends on what you want to do. Modern wild? Any color the same intensity as the lilac.

I would wear these really hot Jessica Simpson high heeled white sandals... They have like a wood colored heel, who cares if I freeze! LOL!

Silver would look great with lilac, maybe black would be nice; but a little dull
