  • No i do not, counting cards is a skill, like speed reading. If you can do something better than other people it makes you gifted. I think all people are gifted at something, and if you can capitalize on that than that is your god given right
  • No, counting cards is merely a way of trying to increase your odds. Most people who do count cards dont do it well enough to significantly give themselves an advantage anyways. In my experience as a dealer, 75% of people are TRYING to count cards. And 90% of them are doing it ineffectivly.
  • Put it this way, the casino makes billions of dollars each year. Mine as well take what you can! It won't affect them if you do it every now and again!
  • No, but the casinos will kick you out and ban you from their casino and sometimes let the other casinos know also. I tried it a couple times, but it's more work then play. I enjoy just playing blackjack the old fashion way. I do get ahead once in a great while, but I will lose if I overstay my welcome. No matter how much luck you have and doing well, if you keep trying to win more you'll give it all back. They have more money then you and they can play until your luck goes bad. When you're ahead, you got to know when to get out. That's the key to winning in blackjack. If you can count without getting caught I would go for it. I don't know why they call it cheating, it takes talent and lots of concentration and if you can do it without getting caught I say take all you can get.
  • It is certainly not unethical. Casino's would have you believe it's cheating, but anything will be construed as cheating if you have an advantage over the house. Any game of cards requires thinking based on our knowledge and opportunity, any addional information can assist with our judgement. Ultimately casino's don't want anyone to have an advantage except them. If you can use information that is available to you(counting cards) its merely utilising information to make a more informed choice not cheating or unethical persay.
  • I think its a damn good talent and should be appreciated more as an art!
  • For me counting card is a skill and it is your primary weapon on playing blackjack.
  • No, I do not think counting cards is unethical, especially since the odds are always stacked in favor of the casinos anyway. Who the hell are they to say it's wrong?
  • No, I think its totally fair. Damn Casino's.
