  • The same thing is happening to me too, its just ripped up a pair of my leggins just before. I sometimes find that its something stuck in the washer somewhere, last time it was a sock in the drum which it ripped up. Mine is coming up about a year or 2 i think and its just recently been happening.
  • I would try washing things on the "delicate" cycle mode if it has one, and see if it still tears up the clothes. You should still contact the company right away b4 ruining any more clothes!
  • i use a mesh washing bag.......and never have this problem!!! worth a try...they are inexpensive and i actually bought mine at the dollar store:)

A friend of mine repairs these dammed things and although he spent hours (along with Whirlpool engineers) they came up with the following answer. "We have no idea what's causing the problem....." Your best bet would be to insist they give you a new one. The warranty that comes with them is usually good for a year, and if you bought it with a credit card, that might extend the warranty, automatically.
