What is Inquisitorial system disadvantages and advantages?

    Advantages:
    laws applied by someone (the judge) who knows the legal system well and is theoretically impartial
    efficiency

    Disadvantages:
    power is concentrated in one person
    judge's interpretation of the law may not comport with the mores of the community at large

    As a legal system where the court or a part of the court is actively involved in determining the facts of the case, the goal seeks the truth by questioning those most familiar with the events in dispute, as opposed to an adversarial system where the role of the court is solely that of an impartial referee between parties.

    Two main advantages are the speed in which the judge can come to a conclusion, and the fact the the judge is a trained professional.

    A disadvantage is that the conclusion rests in one person or a tribunal, and not a jury.
