  • Mc Donald's always had a franchise in my town especially in the earl 70's: KFC was a later phenomenon and I only learned about it in my 20's, liked it and then found better. There always has been a Mickey Dee's in my town.
  • I was about 13 when McDonald's opened their first restaurant in Denver, in 1956. I remember it well. My boyfriend at the time got a job there. In those days, teens could still work in restaurants without all the insurance and safety problems that keep them from getting jobs now.
  • When I was little, there were four of us kids, so money was tight. On the way to Grandma's house(150 miles) we would stop at McDonalds and eat. We were allowed a cheeseburger or hamburger and fries or two cheeseburgers and a small pop or a milk. I still like McDonalds plain old little cheeseburgers better than any of their other sandwiches. Thanks for the memory!

  • They both predated me and were right next door to each other. The last time I visited the KFC had closed down however.
