When I hit 18 and had to pay for my own glasses, I would only go in once every 10 years for a change if my vision didn't change that much. My next pair, in my 30's lasted me for 12 years. Last year, I received another prescription, had that changed and am being encouraged to change again this year. I'm seeing 20/20 and am refusing since it's a small fortune. At this point, it's a money matter for the Optometrist, not an eye health issue for me. If my vision dips to 20/40, I'll change the perscription. But there is no need to do it now.

When I was pregnant with my daughter I began needing eyeglasses, but it was a sacrafice I would make again (as opposed to bone loss, or other items that sometimes happen during pregnancy). I have my eyesight checked at least once every year or year and 1/2 if I am being really lazy about it.
