I disagree. It seems more and more that we're living in a police state. Every day you read of someone who died from being tasered by law enforcement. The U.S. holds the record for incarcerating its citizens.
I agree with that, there seems to be a law for everything, but no consequences.
I guess it would depend on the situation. When it comes to sexual deviants/sex offenders, it seems they get off easily but when it comes to protesting, consensual crime, it seems the cops really get tough and even violent. I don't understand it. I do agree with Speedy G, this place is becoming a police state. And the thing is, it seems everyone is bringing out the police in them.
I agree.
We have too many laws. Every year we pass more and more laws and gain in population. The police have to do 'selective enforcement' which means they can only enforce some of the laws some of the time. They, of course, must enforcement certain capital and felony crimes like robbery and murder. Leaves very little time for all those other laws people want that really mean very little, especially since hardly anyone obeys them. i.e. stop signs, speed limits.
We have the laws, but it is constantly broken by the no-good doers because there isn't any police there to stop them.
