  • What's wrong with vista?
  • What are you talking about. I love vista.
  • Because its made by Microsoft...
  • Because XP was better.
  • What is bad about it
  • Vista is fine if it is factory-installed on a PC made for it AND the end user's demands are fairly pedestrian. If you start adding esoteric hardware (certain video cards especially) then driver support is eitehr wonky or just non-existent; eitehr revert to WinXP or forget about using that hardware. If you want security, would you rather have an OS with MANY MANY third-party programs and a few years of Microsoft-issued patches, or would you rather an OS that is still practically beta-ware? While the OFFICIAL minimum system requirements are meager, for all practical purposes Vista requires more hardware than quite a few people have. Is Vista worth buying a new computer for, and dealing with the hassle of transferring files? Is Vista REALLY worth the huge price tag? I mean, if I wanted to get just a Vista install disc, I'd be paying more than I paid for any of my PCs and a few of the cars I've owned!
  • Vista needs more compatible device drivers and does not have full backwards compatibility - however this is only bad for people who do not know how to use virtual machines.
  • We got Vista when we bought our new Dell and we have not had any problems, other than not being able to run some of our old software because some companies haven't upgraded yet.
  • I think it was pushed out of development and testing before it was truly ready for the public. It is also resource intensive. My laptop came with vista pre-installed but I found it was running a lot slower than I liked. With XP or Linux, I got much better performance out of it.
  • vista not bad but because its a new product it takes time how to use it. After using for a while it looks great. But it takes more memory than XP.
  • Vista isn't bad, people just like to complain about things. I've been using it on several computers for 18 months, and I love it.
  • its not bad, its just a waste of money because its only a visual upgrade of XP
  • I just bought my Fujitsu laptop in January. It had Vista already installed. It is my first computer, and I have not run into any problems thus far. I quess I can't compare it to other programs such as XP as I have never used them. After we bought the computer people were telling me that I wouldn't like Vista, and the security would be a problem. However, I find the security hasn't presented any problems, but has prevented some,as I am a first time user, and need all the help I can get.
