Who else thinks that zidane of final fantasy 9 and vaan from final fantasy 12 are extremely similar?

too similar, tho Zidane,Titus, and Vaan are all sorta similar. Zidane is the only one of the 3 I can stand. Titus was a whining wimp, Vaan is irritating as well.

Square Enix seems to be into recycling--names of characters seem to keep cropping up in all the games in various ways; other charecters, items, ships (in Kindom Hearts), weapons. And some version of Cid everywhere. Among the varied games, you can also figure out which artist worked on the charactors.

Yeah, Zidane and Vaan are both similar in their love of flying for one, not to mention the disposition on being nearly outlaws...at least, Zidane a lot more than Vaan, who the latter does it mainly in spite of the occupants-which is where the difference is. They may seem similar, and they kinda are, but Zidane is a lot more spiffy, direct and even outgoing than Vaan, who's rebellious tendencies don't really hide the fact that he's a rather generic protagonist. :/
