I am under the impression that the spiritual can override physical and/or sexual desires, but is that what you think?

Of course it can. Your mind(mental) usually controls your physical body but your spirit is more than that. I've been told by a reliable source that those with a strong spirit can sometimes lose control of their physical body. He said that the spirit can take over the body from the mind. That means that the spirit can control the body. A lot of people don't use their spirit much though. It usually happens only to people with a strong spirit. At least, that's what I've been told.
