  • Hmm, that he has not (nor Clinton) said he will do anything tangible about equalizing marriage rights, would be a starter. Other than that, being a Democrat and all, that you're in much safer hands (historically) than a Republican's. Just remember the President who refused to discuss the AIDS crisis until 7 years into it - Reagan.
  • That Obama - like Clinton - does not support any same-sex initiative but has stated eh would provide for civil unions. That's a damn site better than the Republicans, who are still quoting biblical passages.
  • They at least support civil unions even though they don't support marriage. At least they are not trying to write legal discrimination into the Constitution like Dubya tried to do.
  • Although I totally agree with some of the answers, Obama would certainly be better than the current President, or McCain, I was more than a bit disappointed to learn that he said he had a gay college professor who was okay because this professor 'wasn't proselytizing all the time'. By this it's clear that Obama meant that the gay professor wasn't either trying to 'convert' other people to being gay or that he wasn't trying to hit on Obama sexually, as if that's what most other gay men do -- a backhanded insult, and what's outrageous is that Obama doesn't even realize that he insulted a whole class of people. If you doubt that this is an insult, try inserting 'Jewish' and 'cheating' or 'Black' and 'stealing from me' for 'gay' and 'proselytizing' and you'll get the point, perhaps. • He likes Broadway shows? He's much more able and willing to for equal rights than McCain.
  • Ok, so I am not gay, so I hope you don't get mad for me answering. I hate when ppl say that gays should not have rights. What the hell is that supposed to mean? You all are human after all. I always thought I was sinning for supporting gay rights until I started going to the church I am at now and they say that no matter what someone is doing, even if you don't agree with it, you still support them, love them, and help them. I couldn't have said it better. If "they" think being gay is a sin and they tell you you are going to hell, than they are not any better than the ppl they say are sinners. You are not allowed to judge ppl and what do they think telling someone who they are allowed to love and damning them to hell is? Umm.sin!!! So just so you all know, I never paid much attention to politics before, but the reason I am now going to consider myself a Democrat is simply because I am more liberal then a Republican and this is all because of you gays!!!!(I am meaning that in a nice way, if the computer didn't come off that way)lol;)
