  • The other answer is correct. The only thing I would add is that a pas de deux is part of a larger ballet (except in a Balanchine piece.) There is also what is called a Grand pas de deux which is a combination of dancing together and solo sections (traditionally male first, then female) and then together at the end. The first video of Le Corsaire is more an example of that. A simple pas de deux is the two dancing together without the big solos. +4
