Help answer this question below.

1989 mercedesbenz e230 while driving with lights on vehicle stalls and wont re start turn key off and on again vehicle will restart when lights are off no problem with vehicle

    you are on the right path, check the cables to the battery & the ground strap on the engine block - something is loose

    hello dave thank you for your answer i have had alternator tested charging at 13.85 volts and 13.75 with head lights on the alternator looks old just bought vehicle 2 weeks ago battery look newish

    Either the battery isn't holding a charge or the alternator & voltage regulator isn't putting out enough charge. There is too much usage for the engine to run with the lights on but without the lights on there is enough. A parts store should be able to test the battery and alternator for free.
