  • This is a local rule set, check the local rules. I know in the leagues around here, we simply skip the injured player in the lineup. However, there is no official rule on this situation in any of the rule sets.
  • When local leagues or tournaments mess with the rules, they need to deal with such situations. Since no major organization with its own rules (OBR, NFHS, NCAA) allows such things as an EH, the rules do not address the situation. Little League, which plays under modified OBR, allows for a continuous batting order. In Little League play when using continuous batting, the missing player's spot is skipped and no out is recorded. But LL covers that in their modifications to the OBR rules.
