No its not. There is American Sign language (ASL), which was developed in North America. British sign Language is in Brittan/UK. Then there is French... Spanish, German Sign Language or Deutsche Gebärdensprache (DGS). Most of the sign languages do have commonalities since a good portion of sign is based on miming actual actions - like drinking, or a cup and a saucer, or the telephone. However in other areas they used different cues to communicate a concept.
