  • Early to bed, early to rise, makes you healthy happy & wise.
  • It isnt wrong, but if you know you are starting to get depressed, get should get your self busy doing something, to take your mind off of what is depressing you.
  • I am getting over the death of my Mom and I feel that I need to be VERY busy in the day and I do go to bed early...10pm(usually I am a midnight gal)The thing I need to do though is leave the TV on a easey on your mind show(mostly cartoons)all night.Otherwise I dream about her all night.Drives me nuts and pulls me down. But we shall emerge!!Live for our others.
  • Going to bed early is no problem. It is the total length of time you stay there that may be a problem. Over 8 to 10 hours may be more than normal for you. Get involved in life. Community projects, computer activities, volunteer work, church, other organizations, etc. may work for you. And, if all else fails, see your family MD. He/she may be able to help or make further referrals.
  • It's not wrong...but I think you're avoiding what your body is saying to you by simply going to bed and not dealing with it. I would try to find out why you're feeling depressed and if there's anything you can do about it. Without much details, that's about all I can say.
  • There is nothing inherently "wrong" with going to bed early because you feel depressed. I've done it once or twice, but it is important to know that it isn't a very good coping mechanism. The underlying problems that are making you feel depressed are still going to be there when you wake up, so the best thing to do is figure out why you're depressed. If you know why, then you can start to find ways to get over it. I would suggest possibly seeing a counselor about it.
  • It's not wrong of you..it's just not a very effective way of dealing with depression. You don't have to feel depressed --you can easily get help these days and not all of it is in drug form..but those can help too...everyone at some point in their life needs a crutch.
  • One of the most effective ways to battle depression is physical exercise. It doesn't have to be a lot. Just walk for 20 minutes 3 times/week. It helps release the right kinds of happy chemicals in your brain. I'm not kidding.
