Maybe a Bed and Breakfast weekend?

I would suggest just taking them out with you both and having a good time. Maybe you and G could spend one day making homeade goodies then when you are spending the day with her parents just go out on a nice day. Take the goodies and maybe go sit down at a local park and enjoy a couple hours their. Do you have a Casino in your county? This is going to sound stupid lol but older people love Casinos maybe take them to the casino for a bit. You don't have to go broke their they have penny machines that i bet they would enjoy.

Help clean up around the house, yard, garage, etc. You couldn't imagine how much this really does help. If you want to do something really special I would find out what is one thing they always wanted to do and either take them or make it or what ever the case is. EX.If they always wanted a pearl necklace, you can make them one. When I went to Florida we got to pick the pearls out of shells and have them set in a necklace we got to choose. It was fun and interesting and you never know what you are going to get. It was also insanally cheap.( Of course if you don't live where you can get pearls, you can't, but it was just meant as an example) Good luck and I think it's wonderful how thoughtful you are being and they will too:)

You could take them to a dinner theater? Those are always fun for everyone. And who knows, maybe they'll be asked to join upon the stage :)

One thing parents love is having a meal made especially for them. Perhaps you could visit some of the deli's around your area for some lovely fresh ingredients and make them a really special dinner. You could make something with three courses and dessert without spending hundreds of dollars. Something I do to say "Thanks" if I am stuck for an original yet cost effective idea is to make up a basket or hamper for the person. Include things you know they like, but aside from food items, some fun idea's include movie tickets, vouchers for a free lunch or dinner, or even tickets to a broadway show or theatre event. A photo album is another thing that is inexpensive to create but that is incredibly thoughtful and will be well received. You could include some nice pictures of yourselves, or other family members. I really think that as long as thought and caring is going into the gift, whatever it is they will be sure to enjoy and appreciate.

Do some things that take more effort than money, that will take some of the load off them. Offer to mow their lawn, clean their house, clean their pool, that kind of thing. I think it will be greatly appreciated.

Pass out little memory books to other family members, have them write their favorite memories of them, photos, cards, whatever meant something to them and then assemble all together, put in a box and give it to them:-)
