What do you think about a convicted murderer who gets a settlement for having consentual sex with a guard?

I think it's crap. If they want to fire the guard for inappropriate conduct, fine, that I could understand. But a settlement? Ridiculous.

What kind of settlement? How would you define consentual in that situation? and isn't sex between prisoner and guard classed as inappropriate conduct??

In light of the imbalance of power in the prison guard/inmate relationship, I find it questionable that any sex between the two is truly "consensual". Lack of violence is not an indicator of consent, and many inmates (particularly female) would recognize that failing to do what a guard wants can make their lives extremely difficult.
