Add it to the list of all the other blood borne diseases they've managed to get, including Hepatitis A, B & C. They don't worry too much, you know, because of the whole immortality things. It just shakes their weekend up for a bit.

Wouldn't they be able to taste the "taint" in the blood? I wouldn't think there'd be any great long-term, medical effect though. the blood they drink passes through their systems, it doesn't integrate because they have no blood "flow" (ie. pulse).

the animal instinct would sense the tainted blood and avoid it.

Animal instinct sensing it my (((, no animal can sense aids and vampires cant either. A vamp can get aids and if they do they are in the same boat as anyone else.
