I have had the Norton antivirus corporate package for two years. its on my home computer. you cannot buy a better package than this. the firewalls have firewalls. no more blogs or viruses, ever! This package may cost a little more, but its well worth the extra dollars. every two days, it gives you an update on new viruses and sends in a firewall for its protection. My son recommended the Norton antivirus corporate package. it really works. And no, i do not work for Norton. i just love things that work.

I'm surprised ESET's NOD32 didn't make the Consumers Reports list? I particularily like it because it's so "light weight" in resource use, especially when compared to Norton's bundle, but still just as or even more effective than Norton in protection! Checkout their website www.eset.com.

AVG works very good, and it is free. According to experts Norton will slow down your system between 15 to 20 percent. NOD32 is rated among the best antivirus in the market. It can be downloaded from http://www.eset.com/.

Trend Micro PC-Cillin is one of the best. It doesn't slow down your system like Norton does. It also seems to be rated the best by PC magazines.

ESET smart security and nod32 work well panda internet security is good but makes you pc slow AVG free edition is good even though its free norton and mcAfee are a waist of time and money i use ESET smart security and avg free they both work well

i have norton 360 with spybot tea timer running and super anti spyware since installing all of those havnt had a single issue, and my pc is still quick as fuck an its just a bog standard laptop

I have been dealing with antivirus solutions since they popped up on my amiga500 back in '88 before the internet existed. Norton is ok but resource hungry it is usually free with new motherboards hence it's popularity with newbies. You can't use one product only for 2 years and declare its the best. For those boasting about speed, you need to compare your pc to benchmark tests. I have used Trend Micro, Norton (its not the best), Kasperspy, Zonealarm to name a few. The best antivirus is Kaspersky and Bit Defender However Kaspersky is the best Antivirus uses less memory also nice performance and a ratio of 99% detection Of virus, malware etc.....as its updated Hourly even on start up of system. On the other hand Bit defender is also the same but takes more memory every time it gets an update from the server...but has the same protection ratio as Kaspersky. Norton is believe to be good but downside is slow performance also hangs systems not only that but has less updates then this two......however if you don't mind waiting allot of the time or your system performance downgraded when Norton starts then go for it. People with high performance Machines will not face these differences but these softwares were tested on Core 2 Duo and found problems like said.
