Believe me, I have tried and tested many ways. Two scoops of ground (preferably) Arabica coffee per cup into coffee plunger. Boiling water, just enough to moisten all grounds. Let it sit for half minute or so, and add just enough boiling water to fill half cup per person. Best, easiest, quickest way for a short espresso. More water for long espresso. Sorry, you didn't say best. If you want a crap cup, teaspoon of detergent instant coffee, and a cup of boiling water.
