How would I go about combining audio files to make a mix?

adobe audition is a very good program for that, very expensive though, just download the trial although it is a very big download. But extremely good. you can use the multitrack view and put files into different chanels and a time bar will go across. or you can go into the file edit mode where u just delete sections, insert tracks, tuturials will help.
