If everything else seems to be okay with your car, it could be the sensor (could have been damaged by the mechanic, but you can't prove that). Unfortunately, replacing the sensor can cost some $$.

COULD BE FAULTY OIL SWITCH BUT CHECK THIS OUT BEFORE DRIVING AS THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS PROBLEM

The mechanic could have left a cap or plug loose in the engine. I knew someone who had an oil change, then the check engine light came on and the mechanic wanted $90 just to see that the code was that made it come on. After checking the caps on things the radiator cap was not fully tightened, the oil fill was barely on and the oil dipstick was not all the way in. After we checked and properly closed things the light was gone when the car was started again.
