When I was 14 I dated an 18 year old guy (with my mothers consent) but I was a lot more mature than your average 14 year old.

think about it this way...more 16 year olds are having sex than 13 year olds. it's a little sketchy for a high schooler to be dating someone in middle school.

I am 16 and a half going out with a 14 (and two month) year old, that's two and a half years difference. I don't think there is anything wrong with it. As long as you love ther person the age doesn't really matter. I think you should go for it. And enjoy...
