How often do you read to your children? If you don't have kids, how often did your parents read to you, and when and why did they stop?

When they were small, I read to my kids about 4 nights a week. I stopped when they started reading to me.

My parents taught me to read before I was in school. I always read to them. When I was in 1st grade I could read at a 6th grade level.

I read to my kids every day at least once a day if not more. It is a great to do with your kids from day 1

I don't have children but I do read to my husband if we are driving together in the car, and have done that for over 30 years. We've read hundreds of books together. I guess I do get it from my parents who both read to me and bought me many books. My dad would often stop on his way home from work and get a book for me, a funny one, a story, a book about a country or animals. I just learned to love it.
