I have a friend who had this and the increased weight does cause more pain. They make a belly belt to help with this. Get one. Start before your pain increases. I don't know how you feel about natural childbirth, but you might look into pain control options also. My friend did have increased pain during labor in her later deliveries because of the sciatic nerve, but she still did it naturally. I don't think I could have though. And congrats on your girl! Wish I could of had one of those! LOL!(Mom of 3 boys)

I don't think it will affect childbirth, but I think pregnancy might make it worse. I had severe sciatica with my first pregancy and chiropractic was the only thing that made it bearable. My chiropractor treats pregnant women only and he has a great article about it. http://backpainandpregnancy.blogspot.com/2008/11/sciatica-real-pain-in-backside.html

Sciatica is absolutely horrible during pregnancy. I had it really bad on one side for my first pregnancy then on the other side for my second. The only thing that help was stretching and your doctor should be able to give you some pointers. Sitting for to long then stanting and doing stuff doesnt help either. Avoid long car rides. Use a heating pad when you can and really visit a chiropractor they may be able to help as well.
