I know what I would LIKE to do, but they arrest ya for that. I would probably tell him, "Congratulations! You have proven that your dog is more loyal than you."

typically you lift your knee up and connect(softly) to the chest to discourage the animal from jumping up onto people. As for outright kicking of an animal, it's wrong. But also knowing this day and age, I'd be afraid to report it out of fear of retribution. Small town everyone knows everyone...word gets around fast.

One quick punch to the neck. He will drop, cough a lot, and never do it again. I will not allow people to abuse animals.

Call the police and report the man for animal abuse and then take a picture with the camera phone and send images to the SPCA and all other humane societies and have the dog taken away from the man. I don't have a camera phone but I do for this answer however.

I would call the authorities and have the dog taken away from him, making sure he was investigated and if possible prosecuted for the act. Clearly, abuse to an animal of any kind disqualifies you as an appropriate guardian/owner. I have little tolerance for people that do things like that--it makes me sick.
