I think the Sikhs are with you on this one. 'Moksha (liberation from an endless succession of lives through reincarnation) is achieved by enlightenment, which can be attained only through asceticism. They are expected to follow five principles of living: Ahimsa: "non violence in all parts of a person -- mental, verbal and physical." 3 Committing an act of violence against a human, animal, or even vegetable generates negative karma which in turn adversely affects one's next life.' http://www.allaboutsikhs.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3087

Maybe it's because the fruit population just aren't that vocal. I'll try to start a global outcry if you like, though. Long live pineapples.

I agree, i was in the local chinese take away the other day and i saw two bananas and a pineapple being battered... in broad daylight and in front of everyone, and nobody said a word about it. Its a crying shame!

I saw a grape crushed just the other day - there was simply nothing I could do for it.....however a raspberry gave me a very condescending look last Thursday so I am not entirely sure that some fruit doesn't deserve it.....very much dependet on the attitude of the fruit in question.
