I never am planning to leave from the US so does not matter to me.
-
Whatever. Doesnt really matter to me. I already have my passport since i go tot mexico often. I never really have a need to go to Canada anyway. ~+~

I think it's about time the US caught up with security requirements of the rest of the world.
-
I think it's probably an inconvenient but good idea.
-
I'm Canadian and we need them to enter the US. It sucks.
-
I have a passport so it really doesn't bother me if I travel over to the U.S.
-
It doesn't bother me. I didn't lose anything in Canada.

The Communist states were pretty big on preventing anyone from leaving if they didn't have official permission. We used to use that to show how superior we were. But now, we too have a law that makes it illegal to leave the United States without official permission. It's not just that you can't come back, as I used to think -- it's actually illegal to leave. 8 U.S.C. 1185(b) http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/08/usc_sec_08_00001185----000-.html Except as otherwise provided by the President and subject to such limitations and exceptions as the President may authorize and prescribe, it shall be unlawful for any citizen of the United States to depart from or enter, or attempt to depart from or enter, the United States unless he bears a valid United States passport.

It's just a reminder how sad the world has become.

I hate leaving my zip code. This is like having to take off your shoes at the airport, boiling spinach before eating, or waiting 30 minutes before swimming. I don't fly, eat spinach, swim, or go to foreign countries, so no big deal on this end. Bugs me more to have to pay $11.00 to park in the lot adjacent to the arena in which the event is taking place.

I think it nonsense, for throughout the history of these two countries it was never necessary and things are still the same, and it is unreasonable to make passports necessary. So much for friendly neighboring countries.
