"Real Daleks don't climb stairs; they level the building." Seriously though, it's hard to say because some of the non-TV fiction from decades ago depicted them as being able to fly though this was a special effect too expensive for the BBC of old.

Not from a Dalek point of view. Now they don't have to bother levelling the building to get at that pesky Time Lord at the top!

Simpler but not as fun. You'd think that such an advanced race would have mastered this ability in the earlier versions of the show. I am much delighted that they can fly because it makes these trash barrels with a whisk and a plunger much more enjoyable to watch. Time Lord science in action.

Oh yes, It was a happier time when the most fearsome creactures could be defeated by a simple set of staris. *sighs* ah good times.
