Why would another driver start honking the car horn when the car in front stops for a red light or stop sign? Don't they know you're supposed to STOP at these things?

I also don't understand why drivers would start honking their car horns in the middle of a traffic jam (as if their honking would change anything). Well, I would just say that it's better than road rage. I'd like to see the positive side of things :)
