Black and white are more dramatic and haunting, imo. But I like color as well, for sunsets, the color of eyes, etc.

i like color photos i guess it just shows more detail well to me but lately i have been finding black and white photos of pregnant ladies that seem very cool
-
I prefer color, because I like color. My wife though loves the black and white or sepeia pictures. She thinks they look nicer.

For me, it depends on the subject. Some nature photos are better in black and white, while others are best in color. They both have ups and downs. I believe it depends on the mood and/or character you (as a photographer) are looking for. It is important to remember, however, that it is the viewer's eye you are trying to capture. One trick I learned when developing your own photos is to take the picture in color film (unless it's digital, then it doesn't make a whole lot of difference). Use test-strips to determine which version looks better. Of course, there is more to the process than I say, but for the average user, this process works.

I prefer good photos from bad. The question of color or B/W is irrelevant in that respect.

Black and white. The contrast and the emotion. The attention to the subject is not skewed by lots of coloring. It is dramatic; it is haunting. I love the black and white photos.
-
They each have their place. My father was a photographer and I remember the black and white shot that won him an award. It was a wonderful pic of a bridge in Paris at night. So atmospheric. But colour is colour. It captures things as they were on a day.

Black & white. I also like cyanotypes. leaves more to the imagination, old fashioned looking. Sepia tint is great for making a picture look old.
-
It hard to say which is better, it depends on what you needed. color photos give us a vivid describe of the situation, black and white also could take us into a special world, that is a reminiscent and different one.
-
Both..I think black and white are more artistic..much is accomplished with light and shadows. The color photos as "prettier"..but some things require gritty, truthful and no bells and whistles..those things require black and white! :)
-
I like both.It depends on the subject matter.
-
More often than not I prefer black and white. I think color crowds the subject and dominates the photo :)
-
mostly I prefer black and white photos of people, because it lets you really focus the on the subject. however, I really enjoy color photos of things like flowers and sunsets and other brightly colored things ;)
-
Not sure lean towards B+W possibly because of nostalgia
-
I like black and white preferable because people seem to look much better in them. It balances ou skin tones and what not.
-
I like my porn in full color. Otherwise I don't care.
-
Black and white (hence the avatar in b&w) Its a flattering way to take pictures. ;) ~+~
-
Black and White - seems more real
-
I love black and whites it seems to capture a sense of the past for me.. and I know one day i'll be looking back on all the moments I got to caputre with my camera and thing of days gone by!
-
depends on the subject material
-
It really depends on the photo, the composition, the subject, background. I like black and white for memories like weddings and beach scenes. But color is good for weddings too especially if there is a beautiful background, and all the flowers and bridesmaid dresses. anyway... just depends.
-
It depends on the photo. I LOVE black and white photos the most cause they seem to be more dramatic. But for instance a pretty shot of the Fall, would have to be in color:) Just depends:)

I prefer B&W or other monotones. Full-color adds an element that I consider less artistic. Much of too much information. However, Sometimes color is essential. Like, - who wants to see a B&W sunset? http://www.CurtisNeeley.com
