I have wondered that too. I love Target, but can't stand Walmart. It's not like they sell anything different, but Target just do it so much better. I think that Walmart just seems to stack their shelves much higher which makes it feel more crowded.

Here in Reno,I find it just the opposite.I love Wal Mart,the target closest to my house is not very tidy or organized.And the service is very snobbish.

Perhaps the Target employees are more motivated to keep their work areas clean and organized, getting paid a decent wage and benefits, and all. :o)

I work at a local Walmart, and there is another one in a close by town, and they are both clean and organized and well stocked. It might be that I live in a small town...that seems to make a difference. When I lived in the city, I hated going to Walmart because it was nasty, a big mess, and the employees were rude and unhelpful.

I think it all depends on the store manager's standards and the number of cleaning people he/she employs regardless of the name of the store.
