Will I go to the penalty box for answering "Do your own homework" to a question that is clearly someone who wants us to do their homework for them?

I don't know, but you might get downrated by the ungrateful lout(s). This is what happens to me. I do at least try to point them in the right direction, but I steadfastly refuse to do all the work for them, unless it is really complex and hard to understand. Kudos to you!

I think the penalty box is reserved for 1) Obscene name calling. 2) Starting wicked fights with other members 3) Blatant and willful abuse of the Terms of Use Telling somone to stop being lazy most likely would not even come close to a PB offense.

I would not think so but why even bother clicking on the homework questions? If everyone stops responding they will be like a starved dog and go elsewhere.

You shouldn't, if that's all you say. If you call them names, YES, you WILL be PBed. Answerbag is a place to find answers (or how to GET the answers) and not a place to call others names. DRs on questions don't count against your points, even though I'm sure you've gotten some. They just show displeasure in an answer or question. In fact, they DO acount against the DRer's percentages. I only answer math questions, if I can, and I DO try to explain to them how to do whatever it is they are trying to do, but I do NOT give them the answer. For others, I may find a link to explain, but nothing more. I WILL NOT do something that's obviously homework or quiz/test questions. NOTE: There ARE times when a mom or dad is helping with homework and needs the help. And some teachers DO know students use AB for this purpose.
