  • G'day Sweetcake, Thank you for your question. In Australia, we have universal health insurance. However, I also belong to a private health fund to cover dentists and other services not covered by Medicare. Regards
  • In Canada everyone is on medical and pay according to your income. Over the years they have cut a few things out of it like eye examinations But noone is refused treatment. I am actually refering to B.C. Not sure about the other provinces.
  • My friend was just denied a claim. In order to determine whether she had sleep apnea, she was ordered to undergo a one-night sleep study. When the explanation of benefits arrived, she found the insurance company coded it as a procedure, not a diagnostic test. This is ridiculous since a procedure helps rectify something and a diagnostic test identifies a problem, which this sleep study was meant to do. She appealed but was denied. That's health care in America.
  • I receive benefits that I pay for through work. I specifically went on to obtain my hearing aides, after going to the audiologist and getting all the tests and being fitted,my insurance notified me that it does not cover hearing aides. When I tried to get off my current plan because of it, I was told I would still have to pay til Jan.09. I am apppealing!
  • No. Sounds unjust in the worst way. We have a form of universal coverage in Massachusetts.
