No, but they are curable. It has been shown that the the Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacterium, is responsible for most duodenal ulcers and 60 per cent of stomach ulcers. Antibiotics will fix them.

I have had the surgery to remove one and sort out a hiatus hernia
