A healthy body, not be afraid of being in small confined places, and a strong desire to face the possibility of getting hurt daily along with the other health issues. Qualifications, I think once hired you will be taught everything you will need. The guys with Mining Degrees may not be actually doing the hands on mining of the coal. There always be labourers.
