  • Yeah it is a side effect of many anti anxiety and depression medications. So if you are taking any of them it's very normal. If not it still causes headaches because of the stress.
  • I get throbbing headaches from my anxiety issues, mine are caused from muscle tension. If I can get the muscles to relax I am good as gold, but if not then it's a continuous issue. I don't mind my anxiety meds, but I prefer to take them when I feel stressed, not just because my muscles are tense. If I take them when I am not stressed out then they knock me out cold and muscle relaxers do not work for me.
  • I hate to ask the obvious, but were you drinking alcohol the night before? The other thing is, do you grind your teeth in you sleep, or even clench your jaws when you're awake? The reason I ask this is because my s/o does, or did - we sleep in separate rooms - and he's being treated for GAD. And he snores too!
  • Yes, headaches and migraines can be directly caused by anxiety itself. Here's a list of symptoms - http://www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety-symptoms.shtml Aside from various relaxation and guided meditation techniques you can use to train your brain not to produce thoughts which produce anxiety, there are also natural calmatives such as Chamomile tea which you might try, to assist with reducing symptoms of anxiety. (Chamomile tea is available in health food stores and most grocery stores, as well). Another herb which has been found effective for anxiety is Kava, which you can buy in tincture form at many health food stores. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generalized_anxiety_disorder#Herbal There's also an herbal and amino acid formula that looks like it should be quite effective you might be interested in checking out, called Panicyl - http://www.panicyl.com/Panicyl.html
