  • It depends. Yes, some Manga do go more into detail than the anime, such as Negima or Shaman King, others are pretty close to the same, such as Naruto. Heck, some Manga take a complete different story branch from the anime, such as Full Metal Alchemist. Most of the time, yeah, the manga comes out before the anime, but I hear there a few case of it being vice versa. Which of the two I prefer depends on the series. If it's more action based, like Naruto, I prefer anime, but if it's more story driven and big on art visuals, I prefer manga.
  • From the ones where I've read and watched both, I'd have to say that the manga really does have more detail. Sometimes the anime may end but the manga still keeps on going, so the story is definitely changed. I prefer manga on most series. There is also less censorship (not just sex).
  • Manga can show a characters thoughts and feelings better than the anime, and often times the manga is more in depth and detailed than it's anime counterpart. Usually the manga will come out first, and if it's successful, they'll adapt it into an anime series. For example, in Naruto, the manga is currently way ahead of the anime. I tend to enjoy anime more than manga because I'll get a headache if there's a lack of noise, and I like to hear the characters voices. Usually I'll both read the manga and watch the anime for a series, I like to see both aspects of it. This is especially true for series like Fullmetal Alchemist, where the manga is quite different than the anime. Right now, however, there is another Fullmetal Alchemist anime being made that holds truer to the manga than the first anime. It's called Fullmetal Alchemist: Brothers.
  • manga give the more important details that the anime might not offer. however the anime adds stuff about the shows or characters that wouldn't be found in the manga. but it's just minor additionals. manga usually come out way before the stories. for action, i prefer anime- better fighting scenes and graphics for love stories or comedy romance, i prefer manga because the characters are portrayed better and the manga has more sweet details.
  • in my opinion, manga does go into more detail. and i believe that the manga comes out before the anime. i like to read/watch both. i like manga more though because you can capture the character's personality better than in the anime
  • Well the answers can go either way for the detail aspect; for example for some animes there are anime only arcs and anime only character (ex: Chobits and Angelic Layer has far more detail in their anime than their manga), and sometimes the same goes for manga. But by in large manga have a bit more detail. It is more common for the manga to come out before the anime; but it just as common for an anime to be completed beofre the manga is(ex: Trigun and FMA animes were finished before their mangas were; the there is the exception of Spiral, the anime ends in a way for it to continue on, it is rumored that the anime will continue as soon as the manga is finished.) I actually like both, but I lean to manga a bit more since I can have acess to it much more frequently than I can with anime (ex. I can read manga at work/school, whereas I am unable to watch anime). I hope that this helped you out.
