  • It may be the last 4 numbers of the serial #
  • If you press the recall button at the same time as 9, you can reset your v-chip password.
  • could also try 0123, 1234, 9999, 0369 or 2468 - these are some common 'default' passwords i've come across.
  • press the QV and the #9 button at the same time.this is to by pass the code. then the TV will ask for a new password, try to input 1111,0000 so it will be easy to remember. then go to the v-chp menu and turn the v-chip lock into off.
  • Unplug the TV, wait a few hours (or better yet overnight) and then plug it back in. See if that resets the settings. If not, look in the manual- If you don't have it look up the brand and model # of your TV on the internet and you'll most likely find the manual. That will tell you how to override the V-chip. If the ovverride procedure in the manual doesnt work there is a problem with your TV. Question- Is it explicitly saying "this channel is blocked" or is it just skipping them for no apparent reason? If it's just skipping them, it may not be Vchip related at all, but is just a setting to skip-over channels you don't recieve to avoid them while "channel surfing"- or it could be skipping them due to some kind of fault. Some universal remotes (cheaper ones) may not be able to operate the TV menus properly. If you still have the remote that came with the TV, try that. If you don't have it any more, either 1. order an original remote from the MFR if the TV is still in production or 2. get a "better" universal remote.
