  • I don't believe it is...I believe it's important for my daughter to have an open mind, and when she's old enough, to make those decisions for her self, without my dogma running around in her head, and I will support any decision she chooses to make.
  • Yes and I think they should be taught about all religions. Let them choose what they want to believe. Plus it's about morals and learning. You don't have to be religious or even believe in god to learn things and life lessons from religion. By learning about these religions it's teaching understanding of people with different beliefs and cultures.
  • I believe they should be taught all different cultures and religions, and when they get old enough to choose for herself she is supported 100%. The one thing all religions teach is responsibility and caring and even if she doesn't believe in the same thing as everyone else these are life skills every one needs..
  • I was wondering the same thing myself so thank you.
  • Let them pick what religions they want to learn about, it can be educational for you as well. Look up websites with them, buy or rent books on them and go through it all, explain what they don't understand, or if you don't know yet either, do more research on that aspect with them. Just try to teach them to not be a religious "nut", because that's what gives religion, as a whole, a bad name. Tell them to let it be their spirituality, what they truly believe, but to not cram it down everyone's throats. Or, if they're not sure what ones they want to learn about, pick a couple you want to learn about. It can help get them started, and if they pick up a real interest in it, you'd be surprised where it can go.
  • Kids need so much to grow. Having faith gives kids another support in addition to their parents (family), school teachers, councilors. As a parent, what really matters to me is my kids having enough resources to make appropriate decisions. Going to church and being involved in youth groups. If church is not something that you want to do, possibly send them with a friend or family member. Being a part of a youth group allows kids to be surrounded by other kids. If not, pray at night with your little ones, and also at meals. Good Luck to you
