  • I had the same problem, What i did to fix it was, shut off and on my ps3, then went to my folders on my computer which is running windows vista, right clicked folder, pushed share, then pushed share again, and it worked, i can now watch movies and listen to music,
  • just use your windows fire wall and enable media shareing via exeptions should work fine mine dose
  • Try TVersity. I had the same problem with my HP (vista 32) and my PS3 (40GB upgraded to 250GB) and installing/using TVersity on my computer solved it. I turned off the UAC (user account control) and installed TVersity with all the default settings. It is even streaming some formats that the PS3 doesn't support because of the on-the-fly transcoding. I still see the DLNA Protocol Error now and then but I think that is the PS3 trying to access the computer directly as a server. Even when the error comes up it will continue streaming. The IP address conflict might be a router issue or one of vista's fun little idiosyncrasies.
