Food is pre-processed for digestion in the stomach. From there the food goes into the small intestine where nutritive properties (including fat, sugars, amino acids, etc) are absorbed by the blood. What's left of the food, the "solid" parts of it, which is most of it, goes into the large intestine, where it is further processed into the solid stuff we flush down the toilet.
Our body digest it. It takes out the minerals, protein,water and other sorts of nutrition out of the food and our body also absorbs it. Also the body excretes the unusable materials called waste into urine and feces. Tried to make it brief as possible.
