it will never happen - the states are seperated on ideological and political standpoints. Also due to neo-colonial influences, it is not in the interest of countries OUTSIDE africa to cause a 'United States'. America profits from the countries division (as does Spain, France etc etc).

No, this wouldn't make sense at all. Every country has a very unique background, different cultures and langages. Some countries in Africa are even at war (or civil war). And establishing a functional government that could organize, coordinate and support the interest of every African is pretty impossible.

Sounds good initially, but I think it would be a long time coming. There are a lot of influences both internally and externally that would need to be overcome. For example, what style of government would be present? Who would chair? What of the different currencies? What of the ongoing turmoil and infighting? The police? The division of wealth and services? Perhaps it could start as a collateral agreement between a few African nations, and sort of grow from there. Ultimately it would be in the best interests of the people, but logistically it would be a nightmare.

Many of the countries in Africa cant even agree peacefully within their own country much less get along with the entire continent.

first you would have to unite each african nation, so far most are divided by tribes to the point that thier more a unstable co-operation of tribes than a nation
