Jewish faith go to the synagouge on saturday. christains go to church on sunday. I believe Saturday is the 7th day, the sabbath, the day of rest. Jesus was Jewish. Does this make sense? sorry about spelling.

I think what you really want to know is, why doesn't the calendar week start of the same day as the workweek? The Jews used a week which, in our terminology, ran from Sunday to Saturday. Traditionally they worked six days a week, and took the seventh day -- Saturday -- off from work. Christ's resurrection was on a Sunday. I don't know the details, but somehow this led to Sunday being sanctified, and thus Sunday became the holy day, on which one did not work. Saturday was still the _seventh_ day of the week, it just wasn't the _main holy_ day of the week anymore.
