  • Murder doesn't pay! So if thats what you are thinking, don't! But really, if he is already dead that would be a matter of estate I suppose.
  • If he was ordered to pay child support before he died, and if he died owing you for it, you can get money from his estate if he has any. You can get social security for your children if they are school age and are in school, or if they are younger than school age, and if he was eligable to receeve soical security. Your local SS office can tell you if he payed into the system long enough to be eligible. Your pay will be based on what he would have gotten plus any back pay for the months they were eligible but weren't receiving anything.
  • Contact your local Social Security office and ask them. They're there to help. My local office is very responsive. You'll get SS help until they're 18.
  • You've heard the saying "You can't get blood from a stone" right? This situation is very similar. Hopefully the stone had things he left behind which you could have some right to. If it isn't much then it wouldn't be worth it but you should definitely look into it.
  • Let me tell you what I know about when the father dies. If you didnt force the issue of child support with him and worked things out with each other about the health and well being of the children, then you dont have to pull in the child support inforcement. That is how me and my late boyfriend did. He passed away almost 1 yr ago. matter of fact , 1 yr and 9 days ago. Very good man. Social Security divided up what they figured was what each of my children should get for a death benefit from their dad. When my oldest daughter graduated High school I just assumed her amount she was drawing would go to her younger sister. Well here in good ole Missouri, no. What they did with that money I dont know. But my other child only gets the same amount as she always did. I cannot figure that out. Wouldnt you think if soc sec said ok each kid will get 300.00 a month until they graduate school or turn 18 whichever comes first. So one kid graduates. Dont you think the youngest should get that other 300.00? Where the hell does that money go. Me and my minor daughter sure as hell dont get it. What is up with that??? Anyone know anything about the damn social security and their messed up laws? If so, please reply back to my situation i am in. thanks kim in misery. i mean Missouri.
